Ingleside at Rock Creek’s Memory Support Assisted Living is now offering a new innovative, therapeutic connection to nature, and is also the first community in DC to offer such a program. Our partner, Eldergrow, facilitates an evidence–based, therapeutic horticulture program that helps to improve the quality of living for our residents. The mobile, indoor therapy garden gives residents a new purpose, while the therapeutic session offers multiple benefits. This program bring nature inside 12 months a year, improving life for our growing community of older adults living in residential care, and engages residents in meaningful ways, including:

Eldergrow's Therapeutic Horticulture Program helps to stimulate resident's five senses and memory, documented to reduce dementia risk factors by 36%, and can be used as focal point during family visits. During each lesson, residents are given measurable wellness goals that are then used to track positive or improved emotional states, including:
