Rockville, MD – Ingleside, a premier not-for-profit provider of comprehensive older adult services in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, proudly announces its achievement of receiving a 2027 SAGECare recertification for the Ingleside Organization including all three communities Ingleside at Rock Creek, Westminster at Lake Ridge, and Ingleside at King Farm. This prestigious achievement highlights Ingleside’s continued commitment to inclusivity, respect, and belonging for LGBTQ+ older adults.
“I am incredibly proud of our staff who completed this specialized training to receive the SAGECare credential for the seventh year in a row,” said Traci Alley, Ingleside’s Chief Human Resources, Compliance, and Privacy Officer. “This Platinum distinction provides our LGBTQ+ residents and team members with the confidence that our communities are inclusive and welcoming for all,” Alley added. “The certification also reinforces our commitment to using specialized best practices that ensure LGBTQ+ older adults feel respected, valued, and celebrated for who they are.”
Building on this commitment, Ingleside recently partnered with a SAGECare specialist to engage senior leadership in organization-wide training and dialogue focused on inclusion, psychological safety, and best practices in LGBTQ+ aging. Following this engagement, the Ingleside leadership team conducted a comprehensive review of SAGE best practices to further strengthen person-centered care, staff education, HR practices, governance, programming, and inclusive operations. This work integrates SAGECare standards directly into Ingleside’s operational excellence and organizational culture.
The Platinum credential is granted to providers when 80 percent of the workforce undergoes an hour of specialized LGBTQ+ elder care instruction, and 80 percent of executives or administrators complete four hours of intensive education. Across the nation, over 300 organizations have achieved SAGECare’s prestigious credentials since its inception in 2011. By exceeding these rigorous benchmarks, Ingleside affirms its unwavering dedication to cultivating an inclusive and supportive environment for LGBTQ+ residents.
