WASHINGTON, DC – Ingleside at Rock Creek (IRC), a premier provider of comprehensive older adult services in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, has opened registration for its new Ingleside Engaged social day program to IRC residents and members of the surrounding community with mild cognitive impairment or early stages of dementia. The program has a carefully crafted curriculum explicitly made for those individuals seeking cognitive function support, while providing respite for the caregiver.
The Ingleside Engaged social day program, which has already been launched at Ingleside’s communities in Virginia and Maryland, is an inclusive experience which allows participants to benefit from cognitively stimulating activities while building social connections with others. Taking place Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the agenda for each day is filled with programs ranging from gardening and campus walks to group discussions and structured fitness activities.
“Ingleside Engaged was designed to support seniors with cognitive decline, as well as provide support to primary caregivers,” said Ingleside at Rock Creek Director of Memory Support and Programming Marianna Blagburn. “This program is managed by memory care trained staff who are certified dementia practitioners and know how to facilitate programs to ensure the participants are fully engaged and supported during the dedicated time.”
