Rockville, MD – Ingleside, a premier not-for-profit senior care organization in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, is proud to announce that two of its life plan communities earned a prestigious “High Performing” rating in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Nursing Homes evaluation. Ingleside at Rock Creek, in Washington DC and Ingleside at King Farm , in Rockville, MD earned this distinction in both Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care categories, placing them among the top performers nationwide.
“This recognition from the U.S. News & World Report validates our commitment to delivering exceptional care and services to our residents,” said Christine Podles, Ingleside Chief Operating Officer. “It’s a testament to the dedication of our staff and the high standards we maintain across all our communities.”
The U.S. News badges are widely recognized symbols of excellence in the U.S. healthcare industry and are awarded by an unbiased trust agent. Ingleside’s achievement is particularly noteworthy as only 19% of skilled nursing facilities in the United States earned a “High Performing” rating in any one category. Both Ingleside communities achieved this highest possible rating in both evaluated categories for Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care.
To calculate the Best Nursing Homes ratings, U.S. News evaluated each skilled nurse facility’s performance using a variety of quality measures obtained from the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and publicly available data. It includes metrics on resident care, safety, nurse staffing levels, consistency and retention, as well as use of antipsychotic drugs and success in preventing emergency room (ER) visits.
Facilities recognized as “Best Nursing Homes” in the Long-Term Care category are places where residents are more than 60% less likely to require emergency department care and 50% less likely to lose the ability to perform self-care activities. Honorees in the Best Short-Term Rehabilitation category involve skilled nurse facilities where 50% more patients are discharged to their own residence and antipsychotic medications are used 46% less of the time.
Both Ingleside Rock Creek and Ingleside King Farm communities will begin displaying the U.S. News & World Report “Best Nursing Homes” badges, joining an elite group of healthcare providers recognized for their excellence in care delivery.
