Ingleside’s Westminster at Lake Ridge Announces Expansion to Meet Growing Demand for Senior Living Homes in Northern Virginia
Lake Ridge, Va. (October 17, 2025) – Westminster at Lake Ridge, a not-for-profit Life Plan Community in Northern Virginia, announces expansion plans to add 24 new residences to the community in Northern Virginia. Ingleside completed the land acquisition for the development slated to begin in 2026, expanding the existing 62-acre property by an additional 2 acres.
“We’ve long seen strong interest from people who want to be part of the warm, active lifestyle Westminster at Lake Ridge offers,” said Kera L. Wooten, Executive Director. “This is a special place – rich in charm, nature, and connection – and we’re excited to welcome more residents into our thriving community.”
The new development, slated for completion in 2027, integrates two new independent living buildings – offering homes to 24 individuals or couples. The homes range from 1,400 – 1,600 square feet, offer a bright and airy design, private balcony, modern finishes, and an abundance of natural light. The new buildings will add an art studio and additional common area for gatherings.
The expansion, which will be located to the south of the existing footprint at Westminster at Lake Ridge property, was made possible in part by 49 residents who donated funds to support the adjacent land purchase

Spearheaded by donor residents Jim George and Dale Clark, residents contributed to the Westminster Ingleside Foundation, established in 1999 as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, to purchase the land for expansion. These generous donations from residents highlight the special commitment to Westminster at Lake Ridge.
In addition to the 62 wooded acres with walking trails, residents have access to premier amenities designed to enrich daily living and foster well-being. Wellness is at the forefront with a fully equipped fitness center, and a heated saltwater indoor pool and jacuzzi. A multitude of dining options include an all-day bistro featuring al fresco seating and a lounge bar, an elegant, elevated dining room, a sophisticated wine bar, and two private dining rooms perfect for special gatherings.
