Join us for an informative session about The Validation Method—a form of communicating with those who are experiencing neurocognitive change in a way that provides acceptance and empathy. Validation approaches and techniques, including redirection, are used to meet those experiencing cognitive change where they are; often these techniques produce positive changes in one’s ability to connect and engage. Additionally, behaviors are better understood, and therefore the likelihood of developing effective intervention strategies increases. The goal of this interactive session is to help you communicate more effectively with a loved one experiencing a form of dementia.
