LAKE RIDGE, VA – Westminster at Lake Ridge, a premier provider of comprehensive older adult opportunities in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area, has officially opened registration for its new Ingleside Engaged social day program. The grand opening is set for early March 2023, with a carefully crafted curriculum made specifically for those Westminster at Lake Ridge residents with mild cognitive impairment or early stages of dementia.
The inspiration for Ingleside Engaged comes from a better understanding of how consistent physical and social engagement can play a role in helping people better maintain cognitive function into late adulthood. Taking place Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the agenda for each day remains filled with various programs ranging from gardening and afternoon walks to movies and exercise. With residents participating in these daily programs, Ingleside Engaged also represents a respite opportunity for loved ones. “Ingleside Engaged is maximizing the health merits of maintaining social connections and programming by offering a daily, ever-changing activities schedule,” said Westminster at Lake Ridge Director of Memory Support and Programming Jena Olsen. “We believe Ingleside Engaged presents a whole new level of memory support for residents who will benefit from additional, professional engagement, while also providing another respite resource for caregivers.”
